Become A Franchise Owner with NBA 2K14’s MyGM Mode

As the release date for NBA 2K14 grows near, more information about the game’s various modes are being revealed. Only available on PS4 and Xbox One versions, the game will feature a new franchise management mode called MyGM. It’s pretty self-explanatory, you are the man…or woman…in charge of everything; including contract negotiations, who’s on your team even all the way down to the type of food served in the stadium. Megalomaniacs rejoice.

As detailed on a developer blog from Erick Boenisch, just like the big leagues, this mode takes you behind the scenes to show you how a successful team is really made. You’ll virtually sit in on meetings with the owner of the team, players and press; building a harmonious relationship. However, it’s not all sunshine and roses, if you start making decisions that make the powers-that-be distrust you, like lying to reporters or upsetting the players you’ll be standing on the unemployment line. However, if you behave, you’ll soon have the trust and love of everyone, making the organization very happy.  So it’s important to keep the potential consequences of every decision in mind.

Just like the other modes available, this mode is very much individualized to your GM. Players will upgrade their attributes, which will include things like being more persuasive in trade and salary negotiations or unlocking the ability to sell more things in your stadium. MyGM is not only about the development of your organization, but also expanding your character’s skill set.

NBA 2K14 will be available alongside the PS4 launch on November 15, as well as alongside the Xbox One launch on November 22.
