With the announcement of the first DLC to hit Fallout: New Vegas not giving too much away as to what to expect of the Xbox exclusive content, Senior Designer at Bethesda, Chris Avellone gave some information about Dead Money. From the answers given, Dead Money will take place in the Sierra Madre, at "an opulent and extravagant resort that was supposed to be the greatest casino in the west – except that it never opened." With the resort being bombed, it entered the ultimate lockdown that left people trapped in the building. Eventually toxins from the resort's climate control and air conditioning system began to escape to the surrounding area, with only those known as "Ghost People" being the survivors.

These Ghost People will be some of the "several unique characters" players will encounter in this extension, all of them working together in order to survive the ordeal they're in. Aside from the people players will meet along the way, the player will also have to deal with the casino's defense systems in order to live another day.

To gain access to the Sierra Madre (as it's been known to be pretty difficult to find), players must load a save file from any point before the endgame sequence. Think Operation Anchorage from Fallout 3. Dead Money is set for a December 21, 2010 release, with an 800 Microsoft Point ($10)  price.
