The long anticipated Doom 4 has today undergone a rename to Doom, ahead of an upcoming beta for the title, Bethesda have revealed today.

The beta will be available to those who pre-order Wolfenstein: The New Order, although fans won't get access to Doom immediately. According to the site's FAQ, the beta will launch at a later, as yet unannounced date.

Although you'll receive the DOOM beta key code with your copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order, the DOOM beta won't begin until a later, yet-to-be announced date. We will contact you with news and updates surrounding the start of the DOOM beta via the email address provided during the key code redemption process.

Currently Bethesda are keeping quiet as to when Doom will release, or which platforms it will be out on.

This follows an announcement by Bethesda from April last year, where they stated that Doom 4 would be undergoing a reboot.
