It looks like things are going to get interesting between one of the most respected big names in the gaming industry and one of the biggest indie darlings to ever exist. It appears that Bethesda has filed a lawsuit with Mojang over the title of their next game, claiming trademark infringement. They're saying that Mojang's new project Scrolls conflicts with their existing The Elder Scrolls series (which you may know better as games like Morrowind, Oblivion and the upcoming Skyrim).

Of course Notch isn't terribly upset and he thinks it's just lawyer bullcrap, and I'm inclined to agree with him. If you can sue people over their game containing part of yours, I'm going to go out and trademark a game simply called "The" right now. Read more about it on Notch's blog and keep an eye out for further developments, though I don't think anything will happen.
