BioWare Details Changes in Mass Effect 3: Retaliation DLC

Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode is set to receive a plethora of changes with the upcoming DLC and updates that the developers have planned. One of the most significant of which is the addition of a new challenges system. Much like prominent first-person shooters (Modern Warfare and Battlefield) that utilize similar systems, it will track the statistics of the player in a variety of subjects and award banners and titles, very much like the aforementioned fps games. Nathan Plewes, the game’s lead multiplayer producer, added that, “Gold challenges can be completed multiple times for even more points. We’ve also added an additional leaderboard to keep track of the points you collect.”

In order for players to keep track of all of their stats, a new website, known as the N7 HQ web page, will be launched, “that offers a ton of information when you’re not playing, including character lists, leaderboards, and gameplay stats. In-game or online, you’ll have a comprehensive way to review your overall multiplayer progression.” BioWare will also still be running weekend events, but they will be announced in-game, and rewards will be received at the very of said events from now on.

These updates will be added with the Mass Effect 3: Retaliation DLC, set to be released for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC today. You can check out the trailer below
