August 28th, 2012 is shaping up to be one of the most important dates this summer season in gaming. One of the biggest aspects of this upcoming day is the release of Mass Effect 3’s first official single-player downloadable content, Leviathan. Mass Effect 3: Leviathan will deliver a scenario in which Shepard and his allies must hunt down an entity whose role in the Reaper conflict is as-of-yet unknown. BioWare has promised that this new storyline can be accessed any time before the final mission cluster, and it will add to the single-player experience as well as expanding on the already-expanded ending.
Mass Effect 3: Leviathan will be ten dollars or 800 Microsoft points when it released next week for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC – the DLC will be on-disc for those who purchase the Wii U edition of Mass Effect 3. In addition to story content, the DLC will also add new weapons, characters, and unexplored systems and areas of the Citadel. The new extended trailer is available for your viewing pleasure below.
Oh, and by the way, :38 in the trailer is such an homage to Independence Day (1996); tell me I am wrong.
