Bioware Shows Off Dragon Age 2 Female Hawke

The next epic tale in Bioware’s Dragon Age franchise is going the way of Mass Effect. What does that mean? Instead of several different races and starting stories, like in Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2 will focus specifically on one pre-defined main character, named Hawke. While your race is limited to a human, it seems you can chose the gender of your character, much like you can in the Mass Effect titles. The shot above is the first we’ve seen of that female Hawke.

Whether or not she is pre-defined in looks is something we don’t know at this point. In Mass Effect you could choose the physical features of your Shepherd character, whether male or female, but that won’t necessarily have to carry over here. In a way, I like the idea of going to a more pre-defined main character, as I think it increases the liklihood that the character will connect with the audience, myself included. What do you guys think?
