Today Blackfire Games revealed its new 2D platforming game Unformed. The developer says the title is inspired by both old Chinese folklore and H.P. Lovecraft.

Unformed unfolds in an world obsessed with immortality; power-hungry kings, sinister cults and spirits abound. But experimenting with everlasting life will cost the inhabitants of Huangting Valley dearly. After a battle between kings and cults, an ancient god is awoken and the valley slips into hell. You, a soul-collector involved in immortal-studies, must gather your wits, battle skills and magic to bring peace back to Huangting Valley and discover the secret to immortality before it’s too late.

The developer also revealed that the kickstarter campaign for the game will begin in just two days on May 24th, 2017, lasting for 30 days.

Unformed is scheduled to launch on PC in Summer 2017, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions coming later in the year. No firm date was given. On PC, players will be able to purchase the game on Steam, Good Old Games, and the Humble Store. Black Fire Games also revealed that PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game are also planned, however there is no date yet for those.
