Blackwell Deception is Now Available, Looks Delightfully Old School

Wadjet Eyes’ fourth entry into the Blackwell franchise, Blackwell Deception, is now available for everyone to purchase and play. Although it is based on an existing adventure series, Deception looks to be a standalone story with no previous knowledge needed.

For those new to Blackwell, Deception is another mystery yarn centering around medium Rosa Blackwell and her spirit guide, Joey Mallone, as they help ghosts around New York City find peace or somesuch. It honestly looks like a fantastic game, and is reminiscent of those old-school retro adventure games that I was hooked on. Hit the jump for a trailer.

Everything about the game, from the graphics to the dialogue, oozes charm. I have more than a full plate on my hands, but I’m tempted to cop this and play this ASAP. You can buy Blackwell Deception for $14.99 here.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
