Technically, according to Sony, the PSN update went live last night, due to maintenance on the system today. So, if you haven't been able to check out the new releases this week, you'll have to wait until later this evening to scour the PlayStation Store. One of the new titles this week is Blade Kitten, a classic-style, side-scrolling, action/platformer developed by Krome Studios, and published by Atari. It's also hitting Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow.

In Blade Kitten, you play as Kit Ballard, a bounty hunter who just so happens to be a cat girl. Surprise, surprise! She is working to track down some local trouble makers. This, of course, leads to a larger story in which you delve into the secret of the planetoid the game takes place on, called Hallow Wish.

I'm loving the art style, which is cell shaded and very action-comic-looking. You'll drop $14.99 for the title on the PSN, and 1200 Microsoft points for the XBLA version. Hit the jump for a couple more screens of Kit in action.
