Inti Creates revealed that their retro 2D action title Blaster Master Zero has surpassed the 100,000 download milestone. For a digital only game available on the Switch and 3DS, this is a huge success.

To celebrate the milestone, Inti Creates released a special “Thank You” wallpaper featuring Jason and Eve enjoying some quality time together and being adorable.

Additionally, Blaster Master Zero’s new character DLC for Shovel Knight is now available for free for 2 weeks, after it will be $1.99, for both Switch and 3DS.

By playing as Shovel Knight players can take on the campaign of Blaster Master Zero in a new way by using Shovel Knight’s signature attacks of bouncing and swinging his shovel. This DLC follows other character DLC which adds to the replay value of the base game.

DualShockers recently met up with Inti Creates to discuss the company’s new focus on western conventions and developing future 2D action game for all audiences. Furthermore, during Anime Expo 2017, the developer detailed new information about their plans for the upcoming Gal*Gun VR title that is currently in development.

We reviewed Blaster Master Zero and thought it was a must own for any Nintendo Switch user.
