BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma’s Final Playable Character is the Catty Scientist Kokonoe

In a press release released in June, Aksys mentioned that the anticipated anime fighter BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma would come to the PS3 in North America with a playable roster of 26 characters. At that time, only 25 characters had been revealed (including Terumi and Kagura) and many seemed to have overlooked the unaccounted for 26th character. We now know the identity of this fighter and it is none other than Sector Seven’s bossy, foul-mouthed, lollipop slurping Beastkin scientist Kokonoe.

This reveal comes via the latest issue of Famitsu magazine. Kokonoe will be offered as a DLC fighter after the game’s launch, similar to characters like Terumi, Makoto Nanaya and Valkenhayn R. Hellsing. Just a bit is known about Kokonoe’s fighting style at this time. She will use a hammer, a wrench and “science” as her weapons and her drive is called Graviton. A character portrait and the magazine scan can be viewed below.

While I’m as big of a Kokonoe fan as the next player, I was really hoping the last character would be the much more interesting looking Nine, but Kokonoe’s inclusion is sure to please a lot of people. Let’s hold tight for game-play screenshots and footage.

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma will be available in Japan in October and in North America next year.
