Blizzard Hasn't Lost Faith in Diablo on Consoles

Being one of the most celebrated developers in the industry, there is no questioning the demand for one of Blizzard’s high profile IP to appear on consoles. Unfortunately, since like, forever, the only place to get your Warcraft or Diablo on has been at your PC.

We know now that Blizzard at least wants to change this. Regarding the Diablo series, CEO Mike Morhaime had this to say:

“I think you could make an argument that a game likeĀ Diablo might play very well on a console. It’s something that we’re actually doing an investigation into to see if that could make sense.”

He also identified Diablo as the Blizzard IP that could most effectively run on a console. There are obviously a lot of technical issues standing in the way of this. We know it isn’t because Blizzard can’t afford and we know it isn’t because they wouldn’t profit. Let’s hope they get whatever it is figured out before the next console generation.
