Blizzard is “Looking Into” PS4 Remote Play Support for Diablo III

According to an interview with CVG, Julie Humphreys, the senior producer behind the console versions of Diablo III, mentioned during Blizzcon that the studio is considering adding Vita Remote Play to the PS4 version of the game. When it comes to Remote Play, “That is something we are looking into. I would say we are in the earliest stages of looking at that. We want to make sure that it is readable and is a good user experience.”

However, if you remember, senior level designer for Diablo III, Matthew Berger gave an interview with GampeSpot, where he stated just the opposite; informing us that Blizzard is not looking into it, referencing that the action sequences won’t properly translate onto the Vita’s smaller screen.

Just imagine concentrating on various objects coming at you and various battles on  five-inch screen. Personally, that’s just not that fun. While Vita support is an idea that is still in the “thought process” stage, Humphreys’ statements suggest it may be under more serious consideration that Berger let on.

Only time will tell; meanwhile, Reaper of Souls, the first Diablo III expansion, will release in 2014.
