With the game officially set to launch tomorrow, many are highly anticipating the latest creation to come from Blizzard Entertainment with the studio's upcoming shooter Overwatch, and over the weekend the studio came up with a pretty creative (and larger than life) stunt to promote it for fans.Following a teaser tweet that agents from the game's "Overwatch" team would be "activating" around the world, it turns out that Blizzard meant that almost literally as the studio installed giant action figures around the world featuring three of the game's characters: Tracer, Genji, and Pharah. Each of the characters were created by creature and special effects creator Steve Wang (previously of films such as Predator and Hellboy) and placed around the world in various locations, based on maps featured in the game; Tracer was located in Hollywood, CA, Genji in Paris, France, and with Pharah located in Busan, South Korea.Encased in a giant version of an action figure cardboard box, each of the figures are pretty impressively detailed and even featured a button on the side for viewers to press, with each character providing some of their lines from the game. According to the photos from Blizzard as well, it's pretty safe to say the giant action figures were a big hit (yes, pun intended).Overwatch releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 24th, 2016 - in the meantime, you can check out photos of the giant action figures below from around the globe:
