Blizzard Potentially Teases Next Overwatch Character

Today, Blizzard potentially teased the upcoming, new addition to the Overwatch roster via a new blog post.

The new character, potentially, teased is Efi Oladele, an 11-year-old inventor/scientists who has experience with robots and artificial intelligence. We get to learn about the character via an interview that takes place in the Overwatch world. The interview reveals that Oladele has recently become the recipient of the Adawe Foundation’s prestigious “genius grant,” in recognition of her many accomplishments.

What’s unclear at the moment is if Efi could be the new character herself, of if somehow she’s related to whomever the new character might be, more specifically, as the article potentially suggests, she might use the money from the grant to create someone or something that could be the new character. On that note, it is also possible that Efi is indeed the new character, and her creation, some type of robotic drone or robot maybe, will be available as her assistance in battle. At the moment, it’s anyone’s best guess.

As you may know, previous speculation all pointed to Doomfist as the next character, but Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan has since reduced the possibility of that being the case.

At the moment, Blizzard has more than one character currently in development, however, none (including the next) have a release date.
