Blizzard Tries to Lure Former WoW Players Back by Giving Away Free Level 80s

on March 7, 2012 6:23 PM

Blizzard has caused some buzz around the World of Warcraft by offering a new program for current players to bring back old players. If a current player “resurrects” a friend, they get a free spectral Wind Rider or Gryphon mount.  The returning players get a handful of bonuses in return.

Not only do they get an instant boost to level 80 on one character, but also a free upgrade to the Cataclysm expansion pack, a free character transfer to their friends realm and faction and seven free days of game time.

To cover their bases of players trying to create multiple accounts for an instant level 80, there is a stipulation that only accounts had to be created and have already been inactive before or on March 4, 2012 are eligible.

This might be the result of Blizzard feeling pressure from recently released and upcoming MMORPG’s. For full details, check out the scroll for yourself here.
