Blood Diamond Writer to Script Warcraft Film Adaptation

Charles Leavitt, the writer behind Blood Diamond (2006), has been tapped by Legendary Pictures to pen the script for their upcoming film adaptation of World of Warcraft. Leavitt’s previous writing credits include the following:

  • Sunchaser (1996)
  • The Mighty (1998)
  • K-PAX (2002)
  • The Express (2008)

Leavitt has also has previous experience in the genre of fantasy, having written the script of The Seventh Son, due out in October of next year.

Legendary Pictures has been responsible for the Christopher Nolan-directed Batman trilogy which concluded this year, and the Superman reboot entitled Man of Steel, due out in 2013. The studio is also working on The Hangover Part III, 300: Battle of Artemisia, and a Godzilla reboot, in addition to adaptations of the Mass Effect and Gears of War franchises.
