BloodRayne: Betrayal Looks Completely Different, But In a Good Way

The next chapter of the “beloved” vampire action series BloodRayne is going in a completely new direction. BloodRayne: Betrayal isn’t going to be a full retail game, but rather a downloadable title for the PSN and XBLA. Developed by WayForward, it’s also going for a retro look, as all the gory action looks to be happening in a more vibrant, colorful 2D environment. Check the full trailer after the jump to see what I’m talking about.

I’ve never much liked the BloodRayne games, but this one definitely intrigues me. The style and atmosphere are right up my alley, and I’ve yet to play a terrible WayForward game, so color me interested. I’m certain we’ll have more coverage on this as E3 rolls around in a couple weeks, so keep an eye out for that.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
