Today Koji Igarashi's ArtPlay released a new video about the upcoming Igavania game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

The video focuses on DICO, a Tokyo-based developer that has been working with ArtPlay to develop the game, and more specifically on its unnamed Technical Director.

Interrogated by Iga himself, he talks about the challenges of developing a 2.5D game in Unreal Engine 4, and it's definitely interesting to watch.

We hear how the developers are working on highlighting the good sides of both 2D and 3D games, being careful about avoiding to make a game that showcases the bad aspects of both.

As bonuses, we get glimpses on gameplay, that looks really nice, and another look at the 3D model of Zangetsu, that has been revealed a few weeks ago at Bitsummit in Kyoto.

You can check it out below, and if you want to see more, you can also enjoy a set of characters that were revealed fairly recently, and another gameplay video from January.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is scheduled to launch in the first half of 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS Vita and Switch. The Wii U version has been recently canceled in favor of the new Nintendo console.
