Booker Returns to Rapture in The First Episode of BioShock Infinite DLC

After teasing us earlier with a tweet from BioShock creator Ken Levine and a recent patch appearing, this morning 2K and Irrational Games have officially announced the first wave of DLC for BioShock Infinite, with two new pieces of content incoming for the critically-acclaimed title.

Today, Irrational first announced the “Clash in the Clouds Pack,” an add-on pack featuring new Vigors, Gear, Tears, and Sky-Lines providing tons of new combat possibilities and variations, in addition to four new challenge maps and 60 new challenges. “Clash in the Clouds” also adds Blue Ribbon Challenges to unlock new concept art, Voxophone recordings, Kinetoscopes, and more content through The Columbian Archaeological Society, allowing for Leaderboard access and new Achievements/Trophies. The “Clash in the Clouds” Pack will be available for $4.99 (400 Microsoft Points) and starts releasing today on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, but Irrational and 2K stated that “it may take a few days” for the content to roll out across all of the platforms and regions.

The second piece of content adds an expansive two-episode single-player campaign, titled “Burial at Sea – Episode 1,” a brand-new campaign experience bringing Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth into Rapture and returning players to the environments of BioShock and BioShock 2. With a film-noir feel behind the first trailer for the add-on, the DLC seems to place Booker in the role of the hard-boiled detective, with Elizabeth as his femme-fatale in the seedy tunnels of Rapture.

“Burial at Sea – Episode 1” is mentioned as “coming soon” in the first teaser trailer, but more details should be available in the coming weeks. The first episode of this expansion will be priced at $14.99 (1200 MSP) on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Both the “Clash in the Clouds Pack” and “Burial at Sea – Episode 1” are also included in the Season Pass for BioShock Infinite, currently priced at $19.99 (1600 MSP), with “Burial at Sea – Episode 2” also to be included.

Check out the trailers below, and enjoy the chance to get to go back to Rapture:
