Borderlands 2 Writer Anthony Burch Leaves Gearbox to Help Write a New RocketJump Series on Hulu

on January 30, 2015 6:55 PM

Anthony Burch, the lead writer for Gearbox Software’s title Borderlands 2, has announced that he has left the studio to become the head writer for an original Hulu series produced by RocketJump.

Burch made the announcement in a Tweet today, joining the team creating the new show just over a week after its announcement. RocketJump consists of popular YouTube star Freddie Wong and many others, best known for their work on the hit series Video Game High School.

Luckily, Burch will still be doing “videogames stuff on the side,” so we should still be able to consume more of his work in some manner. Considering how affectionate I am of Borderlands 2 and its hilarious writing, it is good to know that he will be continuing to work in the industry in some capacity.

There is currently little known about the series that RocketJump will be working on, other than that there will be eight episodes with eight behind-the-scenes shorts released. There presently is no set release date for the series.

Outside of writing about video games, Andrew enjoys binging Netflix, reading a good book and throwing money at anything and everything Star Wars related. He probably finds your lack of faith disturbing.
