Following today's reveal of Call of Duty: World War II, Activision released the first screenshots of the game.

The pictures, that you can see below, give a good idea of the gritty nature of the portrayal of the conflict.

The game is set entirely in the European theater primarily between 1944 and 1945, from the D-Day in Normandy, through Belgium and all the way into Gemany.

The story follows mainly the 1st Infantry division, but portrays diverse characters from other nationalities, including British intelligence officer Crowley and French resistance leader Russeau.

Main focus and protagonist will be Private "Red" Daniels, a young recruit that landed on the beaches of Normandy, accompanied by his best friend, Robert Zussman.

Multiplayer, that will be fully revealed at E3, will include a new "War" mode, an Axis vs. Allies objective-based narrative-driven PvP mode.

The game will also feature Divisions, allowing you to enlist in a division and progress through its ranks. A co-op mode will also be included, featuring, you guessed it, nazi zombies.

You can check out the screenshots below, and if you want to see more, you can find the reveal trailer here, and read more details about the game and its editions.

Call of Duty: WWII will release for PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 3rd, 2017.
