It seems Treyarch Studios has big plans for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s multiplayer game. So far in the series, multiplayer has remained fairly similar, with different types of objective based play. Many gamers might not think there’s a whole lot wrong with that, after all it’s not like the games already on the market didn’t shatter records for their sales, so why change anything?
While we don’t know much about what they’re planning, Lead Multiplayer Game Designer David Vonderhaar recently hinted at a new knifing system, and there has been talk of zombies as well. We do know that zombies will be a full-fledged game mode in multiplayer, with 8 player co-op as well as competitive game modes. Perhaps they’re trying to take a bite out of Left 4 Dead’s fanbase, no pun intended.
In the latest Official Xbox Magazine, Treyarch talked about taking multiplayer back to its core, and making it friendly to both new users and veterans. It will be interesting to see what they come up with, but these days when you throw in zombies, it seems like it’s hard to go wrong.
