Call of Duty Elite Becomes a Free Service for Black Ops 2

on October 15, 2012 5:38 PM

Treyarch has announced that the Call of Duty Elite service is now free for all users. The developer has released a video outlining the features of the free service which includes plenty of stat-tracking and social tools.

Players who are already members of Call of Duty Elite may be a little confused about this announcement but Treyarch has put together an informative FAQ that should answer any questions you have.

The main point to make is that this doesn’t mean that Treyarch and Activision are now going to be giving away all of their DLC content for free. Instead, they have decided to offer the stat-tracking features for free to everyone and just offer the DLC content separately or via a season pass.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, developed by Treyarch and published by Activision will be released on November 13th for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Black Ops 2 will also be a launch title for Nintendo’s Wii U which releases on November 18th in North America and November 30th in Europe.
