Lets be honest, while we thought Call of Duty Ghosts was a massive yawn-fest, the only thing that had us glued to our computer and TV screens was the dog. From the memes to the fake dog twitter accounts to even a Microsoft flow chart, everyone is in love with that vicious yet adorable pooch.

Guess who is even more excited about our excitement? Infinity Ward. They were so excited about our reaction to the dog they have been withholding the dogs name from the public.

After a nationwide "guess what name Infinity Ward has already assigned to the canine" contest held on Infinity Ward's official Facebook page, where the first person to correctly guess the dog's name gets a free copy of the game when it releases and a signed poster; they have officially announced today the dog's name as "Riley." Why Riley?  For those of us who are Call of Duty fans we will remember Modern Warfare 2's Simon "Ghost" Riley.

Already excited about the name? Well there was an even bigger announcement today. Riley the dog will be a playable character in game. Ghosts  will have sequences in which players control the specially trained Riley. Take that Nintendogs.

During today's special All Access event, publisher Activision and developer Infinity Ward went on to reveal a few more details about the game.

Thanks to advancement of modern technology in the game's near future, players can take control of Riley during special sequences, watching footage from a camera mounted on his tactical vest and sending input through certain vibrating motors also found on the vest.

Call of Duty Ghosts will bark its way onto Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC on November 5th.
