Capcom Celebrates Street Fighter 25th with Anniversary Collection

Capcom has announced that to celebrate 25 years of Street Fighter, they will be releasing the limited edition Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector’s Set. This set to celebrate this milestone for the series will be released for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America for $149.99.

For Street Fighter fans this is a must have collection that celebrates the game, music, art, and more of this long running franchise. Included in the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector’s Set are:

  • Street Fighter Games –  Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online Edition, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition with all costume DLC, and Street Fighter X Tekken including all character and Swap Costume DLC.
  • Street Fighter Videos – The two-disc Blu-Ray set includes a documentary that highlights the years of the franchise with the inclusion of Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV Anime movies, all episodes of the Street Fighter animated series, and Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie.
  • Ryu Statue – A detailed collectable Ryu statue.
  • 11-Disc SoundtrackStreet Fighter game music from 25 years of the series’ history.
  • Hardcover Art Book – A tribute art book including fan pieces by professional and aspiring artists.
  • Ryu’s Belt – Full-size martial arts black belt replica of the one worn by Ryu.
  • Certificate of Authenticity – Individually numbered certificate of authenticity.

To further celebrate Capcom is organizing a series of tournaments with over $5,000,000 worth of cash up for grabs. The tournament will span all games included in the Anniversary Collection.

•       August 11-12 in the NY area (location pending)
•       August 26 in Taipei, Taiwan (location pending)
•       Mid-September in the Tokyo Region, Japan (date and location pending)
•       September 27-30 in London, England (in conjunction with Eurogamer Expo)
•       October 13-14 in Sao Paulo, Brazil (in conjunction with Brazil Game Show)
•       October 27-28 in Los Angeles, CA
•       October 31 – November 4 in Paris, France (in conjunction with Paris Games Week)
•       December 8 Finals in San Francisco, CA

For fans of Street Fighter looking forward to this milestone in the franchises history it looks like Capcom is planning on celebrating in style. Now we just need to get the ball rolling on MegaMan‘s 25th.
