Today Capcom has dropped a few details on one of the types of gems in its upcoming fighting game Street Fighter X Tekken. The gem is only one of many kinds of gems that players can utilize thanks to the game's very controversial gem system. Onslaught gems reward players with bonuses to their Cross Gauge, which I'm assuming is just a fancy name for the super meter.This gem will probably be of priority to players who utilize a lot of super attacks, making them much more of a threat.
They explain how the effect can be compounded by equipping multiples of the same gem. It will be interesting to see whether or not stacking the same gem will be superior to equipping multiple different ones. Seeing this makes me excited to see what other kinds of gems Capcom will put into the game. There really are several possibilities, and each of them will open up even more strategy in what already appears to be a very strategy heavy title. Street Fighter X Tekken is due on HD consoles and the PlayStation Vita by March of 2012.
