Capcom Registers “Onimusha” Trademark

on December 1, 2015 12:41 AM

Through the years, many have asked for the return of the Onimusha series,  but Capcom has remained silent.

Today something happened, as the filing to register the trademark for “鬼武者” (Onimusha) was discovered by NeoGAF user miku.

The Onimusha series began in 2001 with the release of Onimusha: Warlords, and was nearly abandoned after Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams in 2006. The IP was used for a recently closed spin-off browser and mobile game named Onimusha; Soul, but it really had very little to do with the original series

We don’t know if the trademark, numbered 2015-112878, really means the return of the classic franchise. For now we can only hope.
