Capcom is doing a lot of remasters as of late, and they have been successful, so why not do some more ?

We have seen Resident Evil HD do well, once it was released, in fact, it became the fastest selling digital game on its first day. Capcom is currently doing a Resident Evil 0 HD, a bundle combining both Resident Evil HD and Resident Evil 0 HD, called Resident Evil Origins Collectionand the recently announced Resident Evil 2 Remake.

All of that leads to them bringing more titles to current generation, according to Capcom marketing director Antoine Molant.

“Resident Evil HD fared extremely well; it’s the fastest-selling day-one digital game on PSN,” Molant said. “We are extremely happy with that.

“Resident Evil 0 was already in the development pipeline when Resident Evil HD was released so that game’s success wasn’t really part of our decision to bring that title to the gamers. Given what we have seen from the fan base since the announcement, we expect it to do extremely well.”

“I can’t comment on our unannounced projects, but obviously a success like RE HD makes us look at remastered games in the future.

“Having said that, its commercial success isn’t the driving force. For example, Devil May Cry 4 and DmC: Devil May Cry were both released shortly after, with performances we are very happy with."

Let's see what else Capcom is willing to bring onto current generation consoles.
