The Resident Evil movies were not as great as people would have hoped, but they weren't extremely bad either (not when compared to Capcom's other atrocity, Street Fighter). One thing that sets this film apart from the games series is the fact that, throughout the movies, the protagonist is solely the very sexy Milla Jovovich. If you hate the movies, you at least have to love her and her skanky outfits.

With Resident Evil: Afterlife hitting the theaters this fall, Capcom CEO Haruhiro Tsujimoto is hoping to "heat up" the undead-based game franchise to coincide with the arrival of the film.

"The 3D movie Resident Evil IV Afterlife starring Milla Jovovich is scheduled to hit theaters on September 10. Timed with the movie's release, we'd like to do something to heat up the game series," Tsujimoto said to Japanese business journal Nikkei BP. Many ideas can convolute our minds at this point; whether or not it's a mention of a new Resident Evil franchise hitting your consoles, if the series is making a triumphant return to our consoles (as we all know how awesome RE5 was), or naughty pinups of Japanese women who resemble in-game characters, no one really knows. What is known, though, is that Tokyo Game Show 2010 is taking place around the same time, so a "heated" announcement will be very imminent.
