Captain Olimar Lands on 3DS with New Side-Scrolling Pikmin Game Next Year

The lovable Captain Olimar has made his home on the GameCube and Wii U for various titles, while the space explorer is landing in new territory with a brand new, side-scrolling game on 3DS coming next year.

During today’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced a new portable Pikmin game, which is currently unnamed, that shows the series being adapted into a side-scrolling platformer for the 3DS, instead of the isometric view that was used in the previous three games.

The currently unnamed Pikmin game for 3DS will arrive in 2017 – in the meantime, you can check out the debut footage of the game below (courtesy of XCageGame):
