In a quest to reestablish the 23-year old Sonic as a next-generation franchise (like Pac-Man) the Cartoon Network will be debuting its Sonic Boom cartoon series on November 8th and in France on Canal J on November 19th.

As seen in the trailer below, the cartoon takes place after the events of Sonic Boom: Rise of the Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal and will feature Shadow and Metal Sonic.

As stated in the cartoon's press release,

Sonic Boom provides an exciting mix of comedy and action with each episode beginning with a small character-driven storyline that explodes into an epic tale of protecting the world, battling robot enemies, and more.

Sonic Boom will include all the old characters that are known and loved (Tails, Knuckles and Amy Rose) while introducing a new character named Sticks.

In the Sonic reboot (or as I call it, Sonic: The Second Coming) Sonic Boom will feature the same but newly designed elements that's seen in the games.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for the Wii U and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal for the 3DS will release on November 11th.
