The indie team over at The Gentlebros has decided to release a development diary for its upcoming 2D action RPG Cat Quest. In the dev diary, the team explores both why they decided to get into game development, as well as why they ultimately chose to create a game about cats. In short, they just wanted to provide where they got their sense of "inspurration."

In Cat Quest, you embark on a journey to defeat a powerful and evil catlord. The evil Drakoth has kidnapped your sister, but even worse, he has thrown the fantasy world of Felingard into chaos. It will be up to you to face fate as part of a once lost group of dragonslayers to save your sister and to vanquish the foul beast that has taken your land.

Cat Quest is coming to Steam on August 8. It has also been announced for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch and is expected to release on these platforms sometime later in 2017. There has been no word on the game’s mobile versions, although it is still expected to release on Android and iOS devices.

For more information on Cat Quest, you can check out the game’s Steam page or the developer’s website. You can see the full development diary released by The Gentlebros in the video below.
