Check Out Final Fantasy XIV’s Gae Bolg’s Lance Built in Real Life and Smashing Stuff

The Gae Bolg relic lance in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is probably one of the nastiest looking weapons in a MMORPG, basically it’s a bundle of spikes and hooks on a long stick, and Dragoons seem to love it. Personally, I’m more the sword and board type, but the good folks at Geek and Sundry┬ádecided to pick up the design of the lance and demonstrate that it can actually work in real life.

To that end, they had it built in actual steel by a professional blacksmith, and got a modern day knight in shining armor to wield it, and wreak havoc. The result is definitely entertaining, and you can check it out just below. It’s also kind of funny to hear the Gae Bolg┬ádefined “almost impossible to get.” Maybe they were thinking about the Zodiac equivalent.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I got two more Atma to grind cor my Curtana… I’ve been at it just for two month now, damnit.
