Grow Home is a small game created by Reflections, an eight person development team within Ubisoft, that has launched on PC today via Steam.
The small game started as more of a development toy of sorts, not truly a game. With continued development the team became enamored with its charm, drawing inspiration from sources like Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Wall-E until they created a product that Ubisoft decided to launch the project as a game for consumers.
BUD, which is short for Botanical Utility Droid, has been given the mission to search across the galaxy for new species of flora to help oxygenate the planet he heralds from. The planet he finds, known as Star Planet, is filled with Jack and the Beanstalk style plants that he must harvest the seeds from to accomplish this task.
The game is easy on the eyes with its simplicity, and it looks like a blast to float around on a flower or bounce between giant mushrooms. You can check out the launch video below to get a better idea about what Grow Home is all about. Grow Home is available now on PC via Steam for $7.99.
