Check Out the Beautiful Final Fantasy XIV Cafe in Tokyo With a Comment by Naoki Yoshida

A litte while ago, Square Enix opened the Eorzea Cafe, in Akihabara, Tokyo, and today I had a chance to give the place and its Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn-themed dishes and drinks a spin.

The cafe itself is actually quite spectacular, modeled after the Carline Canopy in Gridania, and showcases masterfully made props that look pretty much exactly like the game’s weapons.

Apparently it’s definitely successful between Japanese fans.

Game Director Naoki Yoshida was also present, and I was able to get from him a few comments on the cafe itself, and on the prices of personal housing,  which is a pretty hot button topic on the game’s forums at the moment.

That was after he tried, without much success, to persuade us to eat some blue soba noodles themed after Leviathan. Unfortunately I’m not really a lover of cold soba, so I went after Ifrit’s simil-pizza that really didn’t look (or taste) like pizza but was actually quite good.

Below you can check out a video  (please forgive the terrible framing on the part with Yoshida-san, but his presence was a surprise and we weren’t able to get properly positioned.) and several pictures, including the full menu.
