Check out the Music of Gridania from the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta

on March 8, 2013 12:49 PM

While the first phase of the closed beta of Final Fantasy XIV is in full swing, Square Enix came out today with something for those that aren’t yet in: a clip featuring a compilation of BGM tracks from Gridania and the surrounding Black Shroud  area.

If the music itself was not enough Sound Director Masayoshi Soken dropped a new blog post in which he teased a quite interesting detail. The clip released today includes a score variation that appears only during the evening hours, and the music of the game will actually include further variation with the changing weather.

That’s definitely an interesting design choice, showing that Square Enix really seems to be pulling out all the tricks from its collective sleeve to bring us a great game. Will they succeed? We can only wait and see, and in the meanwhile you can enjoy the music below.
