Intelligent Systems, the developers behind Advanced Wars and Fire Emblem, have unveiled a new trailer today for their latest project, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is, from outside appearances, a smorgasbord  of interesting ideas mashed into one package. The game world is dripping in steampunk technology with a silver age comic book inspired aesthetic appearance, with you controlling an elite squad of alien killing soldiers under the command of Abraham Lincoln in a hybrid action and turn-based strategy game.

Yeah, you read that right, I’ll give you time for the sheer amount of awesome in that last sentence to sink in.

Inexplicably, you have a lion simply named Lion on your squad, as well as the notorious Mark Twain character Tom Sawyer. If the Rush song plays whenever Tom Sawyer makes a move in the game, I might just lose it at the collective craziness this game has crammed together. The trailer goes on to show some basic combat against the alien baddies, giving off a sort of XCOM-esque appearance.

Checkout the full trailer below to see for yourself, and look forward to playing Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. on your 2DS or 3DS at a yet to be determined date in 2015.
