CD Projekt Red has released a new five minute developer diary today about the world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The developers go in-depth about the thought and care about developing this new and expansive world for players to explore as Gerralt. Aside from some key places, there was no limitation on what could be placed in the world. This results in battlefields, dungeons, villages and hundreds of other key points of interest residing in naturally occurring locations.

Trying to make things feel natural doesn't end with placement of locations, but also was emphasized in how cities and NPCs react to you. Over 2,000 characters are crammed into the games biggest city and they all have their own life and motives. They react in fear to you when you draw a weapon or even whisper about your past deeds in the streets. It's ambitious and an impressive feat to make a world that truly feels lived in.

Other notable highlights include the ability to call upon your horse any time, travel the ocean in a boat that can be wrecked by sea monsters and the day-night cycle that is in place. Night time brings out bigger and badder enemies and it'll be up to you if you wish to risk adventuring then or to make plans to travel by day instead.

Check out the full video below to see all the cool things that are being crammed into what is looking like arguably one of the biggest RPGs of all time. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt releases on PS4, Xbox One and PC on February 24th, 2015.
