Chipotle, the restaurant chain we all know and love is now entering into the gaming world with The Scarecrow for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The game aims to educate and engage the public about food issues.  Developed by Moonbot Studios, it takes place in a dystopian fantasy world where all food production is controlled by the fictional industrial giant Crow Foods.

The Crow Foods factory is staffed by scarecrows who have been displaced from their traditional jobs on the farm and are now relegated to working for the crows by helping them maintain their unsustainable processed food system. Through tilt-based physics and optional touch controls, you'll have to dodge obstacles to save veggies, rescue animals, and plant crops. The game promises 20 levels across four different worlds.

Chipotle then took it a step further and released not only the game's trailer but a heart-wrenching short movie about The Scarecrow, which is honestly one of the most captivating shorts I have ever seen, partially due to Fiona Apple singing Pure Imagination.

You can download the game for free on the App Store. As an added incentive to play, Chipotle will be giving away free buy-one-get-one burrito offers to the first one million players that get at least three stars on each level of the game.
