I still have a good handful of beta keys for LittleBigPlanet 2 and DC Universe Online for PS3, and I would really love to get them to all you readers out there to spread some holiday cheer. So, this is what I’m going to do — below I want you to leave your favorite Christmas story in the comments section below that involves videogaming. This could be a true story, a friend’s story, a fun story or whatever. Just be sure that it is at least over 100 words long, and then leave your email address and for which game you would like to have a beta code. That’s all. I will keep this giveaway going while supplies of beta keys last.
Below is one of my Christmas stories, and I hope that you all get to know me just a little better than just the awesome videogame person you’ve all grown to love already =P.
I loved playing video games since I was a toddler, but getting a video game was a very few and far apart occurrence in my house. My family wasn’t exactly the most wealthy family on the block, but I was still able to satisfy my love for video games at a cousin’s or friend’s house. After three years of begging, I finally got a Nintendo 64 when I was 10 years old on October 3, 1999. That’s right, it meant so much to me that I still remember the exact date. Before then, I enjoyed my Super Nintendo, but I really wanted the newer games. My first game for the system was Super Smash Bros. and to say that I played the crap out of that game is truly an understatement.
Now on to the Christmas part of the story — it was a night in December and I had fallen asleep pretty early, because, let’s face it, I was a 10 year old kid. A normal 10 year old kid falling asleep in his parent’s room at 10pm and not playing Xbox LIVE cursing up a storm. I remember on this night I woke up and saw something amazing! It was Pokémon Snap and my sister was showing my mother what she had gotten me for Christmas. I, obviously, was not supposed to see this until Christmas time, but the secret was blown once I woke up. I was so happy, and I was told I couldn’t play it until Christmas. However, that didn’t end up happening, because I got pretty impatient. I don’t remember too clearly, but I’m sure spent the majority of my winter break from school on that game.
I didn’t grow up with much, but I am so thankful for what I did have. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and I hope to read some of your stories soon.
**Update** There are no more LBP2 or DCUO codes.
