Claude Giroux Revealed as NHL 13’s Poster Boy

EA Sports and the NHL recently revealed the identity of the athlete that will be gracing the cover of NHL 13. That athlete is none other than Claude Giroux, center and alternate captain of the Philadelphia Flyers. Giroux and other star players in the league were part of a massive voting campaign that EA Sports started months ago. He was able to beat out New York’s very own, Henrik Lundqvist (recent winner of the Vezina Trophy), and Nashville’s Pekka Rinne in the finals.

The 2011/2012 season was a productive year for Giroux as he tallied 28 goals and 65 assists, totaling 93 points in 77 games; in addition to leading his team to the playoffs. Giroux is also the first Flyer to grace the cover of an NHL game since Eric Lindros did back in 1999. A trailer commemorating his victory is available to watch below.
