German-based independent studio Goodwolf has announced that the first episode of its text-based adventure game Code 7 will be releasing this August. A launch trailer detailing the game’s accolades and plot has accompanied the reveal.

Combining a MS-DOS like hacking gameplay system with “a unique narrative experience,” Code 7 asks that players solve a variety of puzzles to discover the secrets behind a sudden loss in communication with humanity’s first space station beyond the stars.

Players will assume the role of agent Alex, accompanied by agent Sam, who is tasked with combating an artificial intelligence that threatens all of human civilization. Furthermore, the duo must uncover the truth about "Code 7," all while another factor is thrown into the mix, further confusing who is friend, foe, and what is real.

Code 7 has been split into five different episodes, each intended to last about 1.5 hours. Over the course of these episodes, Alex will be forced to make vital decisions that will ultimately determine the fate of multiple characters and the final outcome in Episode 5. Depending on what you choose, the game's characters may see you as a friend or even an enemy.

Code 7 is now available to be added to Steam wishlists. The game is expected to release for PC and Mac sometime this August.
