Today Bandai Namco Entertainment America released a batch of new direct feed screenshots of its upcoming JRPG Code Vein.

The screenshots introduce two of the characters that will follow the player-created protagonist as NPC companions.

Mia Karnstein is a wandering female revenant who travels with her younger brother. He is the only family she has left, so she will do anything to protect him. She fights with a bayonet that can attach from a distance as well. She uses a blood veil that takes the shape of a scorpion’s tail.

Yakumo Shinonome is a former mercenary turned revenant. He is cool and professional during battle, and he is good at taking care of others. This makes his well loved among his peers. He fights with a large sword. His blood veil takes the form of ravenous hounds that extend from his arms.

The screenshots also show two large bosses, who are former revenant turned monsters by the lack of blood. When this happens, they are called “Lost,” and lose every remain of human reasoning.
