Initially revealed during E3 2014 in a special event, Nintendo’s mysterious new IP Codename: S.T.E.A.M. is unlike anything else the company has produced before, and luckily experiencing the new title from Fire Emblem: Awakening developer Intelligent Systems won’t be too long of a wait.

During its new Nintendo Direct this morning, Nintendo confirmed that Codename: S.T.E.A.M. will be released for 3DS on March 13th, 2015, alongside a brand new trailer showing off an additional feature that the strategy third-person shooter title will also include support for Nintendo’s amiibo figurines, specifically with the Fire Emblem characters.

In the trailer, the video shows that players with the Marth, Ike, Robin, and Lucina figurines can import the characters into Codename: S.T.E.A.M., though like the Fire Emblem series, if killed in-game the characters will be dead permanently.

Codename: S.T.E.A.M. will release for Nintendo 3DS on March 13th, 2015 – in the meantime, you can check out the new trailer from today’s Nintendo Direct below:
