In a press release issued today, publisher Chorus Worldwide has announced that the upcoming Coffee Talk 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly will arrive day one on Xbox Game Pass for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Developed by Toge Productions, Coffee Talk 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is the much anticipated sequel to 2020's visual novel barista simulator Coffee Talk, which is currently available for streaming through the Game Pass service.

"Xbox Game Pass helped introduce new fans to the first Coffee Talk," states Chorus Worldwide CEO Shintaro Kanaoya. "We're excited that Episode 2 will be on the service from day one."

Like a coffee of premium double origin, Coffee Talk 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is a blend of both the fantasy and the mundane. Taking place in a hustling, bustling pocket of modern-day Seattle, the game presents the player with a coffee shop, a job as a barista, and the day-to-day task of brewing just the right drink for each patron — human or mythological — that enters the cafe in need of refreshments and someone to talk to.

Like the first Coffee Talk before it, Coffee Talk 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly places a strength ten emphasis on the importance of listening to others. Players will pay special attention to patrons' needs, desires, and feelings in order to determine their drink of choice and prepare it for them. As faces become familiar, the fabulistic cast of Coffee Talk 2 will begin to form strong connections not just with the player, but with each other as well: Friendships, romance, and partnerships all will be forged above cups of tea and mugs of joe as the game goes on.

First revealed as a Steam title, Coffee Talk 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly has since added PlayStation 4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC/Mac versions, and will be releasing for all of these platforms worldwide as a digital download on April 20 this year. Physical and collector's editions of the PlayStation 4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch versions were unveiled earlier this year by distributor Serenity Forge — these editions are expected to ship this coming summer.

Presently, the digital release of Coffee Talk 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly can be preordered via the Steam, Nintendo, PlayStation, and Microsoft storefronts. A demo of the game is now available through Steam.
