Dust 514's latest build, "Chromosome," is live, and comes with quite a few updates, the most important being a tighter integration between Dust 514 and EVE Online.

The most awesome feature from the Chromosome build is one that developer CCP has been aiming for since day one: the ability to interact with EVE players, like requesting off-map support in the form of devastating Orbital Bombardments. The update also fuses the markets of Dust 514 and EVE Online, so that both trade and corporate alliances are now shared between the two.

The update also comes with a lot of minor fixes or changes, like an improved inventory system, faster startup time, an improved item and attribute system, and better vehicle physics. The most significant overhauls are in the game's progression system, squad system, fitting system, and game modes, which are all a part of a focus on improving the foundations of Dust 514's core engine.

Chromosome is the last build released before the game goes into open beta, and will be the first of many improvements to come, including getting players into the game quicker, providing new environments, new dropsuits, new weapons, modules, and vehicle roles, and more.
