Today, Australia-based developer Powerhoof announced that its local multiplayer dungeon crawler, Crawl, is set to launch for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux on April 11, 2017.

Crawl is a local multiplayer dungeon crawler where your friends control the monsters. It is essentially a bullet-hell beat-em-up old-school RPG, set in an arcadey party-game for up to four players.

How it works is one player is the hero, exploring a randomly generated dungeon full of traps and monsters (controlled by other players). If you slay the hero you take their place as the hero. From here its a race to gain enough XP and loot to reach the final battle. Here all 3 non-hero players collectively control the "hulking" final boss.

Games are 30 minutes long, and during one you can level up, increase your stats, and amass powerful weapons and magic items. Additionally, you can evolve your monsters from spiders and rats to dragons, powerful demons, and more.

Crawl is currently available in Steam Early Access -- where it's been since August 6, 2014 -- for $14.99 USD. It is unclear how much the final product will cost when it launches.
