The Mount and Blade series has been running for a fair few years now after the first installment released on the PC way back in 2008.

Since then it's remained pretty much a PC exclusive franchise with the exception of an 2010's Mount and Blade: Warband which saw a release on Android as well as PC.

Now it seems that console gamers may be about to get their first taste of TaleWorlds Entertainment's Mount and Blade series, if a recent comment by one of the developers is anything to go by.

During a recent interview with Turkish gaming outlet Turuncu Levye, TaleWorlds' Armagan Yavuz let slip that the latest entry in the franchise - Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord - will be coming to home consoles, though he didn't offer any further information, opting to leave us all hanging.

Though this is a pretty big revelation for those interested in the series, it's not yet confirmed officially by the firm and there's no word on which consoles the game is intended to ship on. Until any official announcement is made by the company we'll keep this one on the leaning tower of rumors. Hopefully we'll be able to shrink that bad boy down a bit soon enough.
